Akebono Brake Industry is a Japanese original-equipment brake manufacturer founded in 1929. Alongside standard production brakes it builds high-performance multi-piston calipers that are fitted from the factory on selected Audi RS and Porsche models.
MZ Brake offers these OEM Akebono calipers as complete one-axle kits. The product name shows the vehicle brand the caliper was designed for — for example Akebono Porsche 10N or Akebono Audi 8N — followed by the caliper model. Each kit contains two genuine calipers, two rotors with hats and fasteners, one axle set of pads, braided stainless lines and the mounting hardware needed for the listed chassis.
Rotors are TTSPORT high-carbon steel or STOPFLEX carbon-ceramic. Pads can be TTSPORT compounds matched to the rotor or, on many of these kits, the original-equipment pads; the choice is part of the rotor option on the product page. Because these are factory calipers, they are also a straightforward way to restore or upgrade the braking on the original application.
